Derek Brown

Derek Brown is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations and purchasing within the homebuilding industry. Currently serving as Vice President of Operations at Richmond American Homes since January 2019, Derek has previously held the roles of VP of Purchasing and Director of Purchasing at the same company. Prior positions include Purchasing Manager at Taylor Morrison from August 2011 to January 2019, and Sr. Regional Estimator & Purchasing Agent at Richmond American Homes from August 2008 to July 2011. Additionally, Derek was the President and Owner of Brown Capital Corporation from 2006 to 2008, where 28 custom homes were built in Branson, Missouri, along with a project in Scottsdale, Arizona. Earlier in Derek's career, from 2002 to 2006, oversight of new home construction as Superintendent was undertaken at Richmond American Homes. With a proven track record in managing and improving product and service quality within budgets ranging from $10 to $50 million, Derek Brown is a seasoned leader in the industry.
