Gaurav Kakkar is a Commodity Trader at Richmond International Forest Products, a position held since January 2018, following a summer internship in 2017 where Gaurav developed inventory reporting tools and business strategies. Prior to this, Gaurav served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech, focusing on the export and market diversification of wooden construction systems for developing countries. Gaurav has also contributed as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials and held roles at Abellon CleanEnergy and the National Chemical Laboratory, where Gaurav worked on biofuels and economic modeling related to biomass. Gaurav holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Forest Products from Virginia Tech, a Master of Technology in Industrial Biotechnology from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology. Gaurav's educational foundation began at Sainik School Kapurthala.
