Advanced Development Coach at Richmond Kickers Soccer Club

Matthew Scott, M.S., ACSM EP-C, serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University since August 2015, where teaching responsibilities include core Exercise Science courses and student advising. Matthew was promoted from Instructor to Assistant Professor in 2020 and developed the Inclusive Fitness and Health Program in 2018, aimed at providing fitness and health programs for individuals with disabilities. Prior experience includes roles as an Advanced Development Coach at Richmond Kickers Soccer Club, Graduate Teaching Assistant at James Madison University, and Intern positions at Duke Integrative Medicine and HCAVA Chippenham Hospital. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from James Madison University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, complemented by a background as a Division 1 Men’s soccer player.
