Earlier in their career, they held the role of Medical Director at the Charterhouse Clinical Research Unit and worked as a Research Physician at AFB - Parexel. Jorg started their career in various clinical positions as a Junior Doctor/Assistenzarzt.
Jorg Taubel completed their high school education at Liebig Gymnasium Frankfurt, where they received their Allgemeine Hochschulreife (Abitur) degree in Biology, General, spanning from 1970 to 1979. Following this, they attended Goethe University Frankfurt and obtained their State Exam degree in medicine from 1980 to 1987. Jorg later pursued higher education at the same university and earned their MD degree, specializing in medicine. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 1999, and a Licence to practice medicine from the General Medical Council in London in 1988.
