Michelle Callaghan has a diverse work experience in the library field. Michelle is currently the Head of Adult and Seniors Services at the Richmond Public Library, a role they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Reference Librarian and Youth Services Librarian at the Okanagan Regional Library from October 2020 to December 2021. Michelle also worked at the North Vancouver District Public Library, where they held various positions such as Auxiliary Librarian, Children's Librarian, Assistant Branch Manager/Children's Librarian, and Librarian, from January 2011 to April 2020. In addition to their library experience, they worked as a Library Assistant at the University of Toronto from 2007 to 2008 and as a Marketing Assistant in Business Development at Ledgersonline from 2004 to 2006.

Michelle Callaghan earned a Bachelor's degree in Arts from Simon Fraser University between 2000 and 2004. Michelle then pursued a Master's degree in Information Studies from the University of Toronto from 2006 to 2008. Following this, they furthered their education by obtaining a Master's degree in Arts from the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2009.
