Carla Murray

Carla Murray is a seasoned marketing communications professional with extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Marketing Communications at Richmond Region Tourism since May 2022, Carla previously held the role of Director of Marketing and Communications at the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association from June 2021 to May 2022. Carla’s tenure at Maymont spanned 24 years, during which significant initiatives were implemented to enhance visibility and audience engagement for the attraction, alongside roles such as Assistant Director of PR & Marketing. Carla also contributed as Past President of the Greater Richmond Tourism Association in 2007-2008 and began career foundations as a Jewelry Associate at Wal-Mart from 1993 to 1997. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University.
