Matthew Robinette, CDME, CMP, is a seasoned professional with over fifteen years of experience in destination marketing, sales, and services. Currently serving as Vice President of Visitor Experience at Richmond Region Tourism since April 2014, Matthew has a proven track record of achieving sales and customer satisfaction goals in previous roles, including Sports Sales Representative and Event Coordinator for the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau. Matthew's background includes expertise in sports marketing, event management, and team leadership, supported by a BS in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Old Dominion University and a degree in Aviation Fuels from the United States Navy. Matthew is committed to leveraging extensive knowledge and strategic insights to advance within a Destination Marketing Organization.
Richmond Region Tourism
Each year, more than 16 million people visit the Richmond Region, and they contribute close to $2.9 billion to the local economy. Tourism generates almost 24,000 jobs in the Richmond Region. Richmond Region Tourism is a private, not-for-profit dedicated to promoting the Region to meeting, convention and sports event planners, tour operators and leisure travelers. The organization represents the cities of Richmond and Colonial Heights, the town of Ashland and four counties: Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico and New Kent. Richmond Region Tourism operates Visitor Centers at the Robinson House at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Richmond International Airport.
