Senior Wellness Coordinator at Riddle Village

Mary Wolstenholme has extensive work experience in the field of fitness and wellness coordination. Mary started their career in 2003 as a Personal Trainer at the Y M C A, where they worked until June 2005. In July 2004, they joined ACTS Retirement-Life Communities, Inc. as a Fitness Coordinator, a position they held until April 2012. Since April 2012, Mary has been working at Riddle Village Retirement Community, initially as a Fitness/Wellness Coordinator and currently as a Senior Wellness Coordinator. Mary'sresponsibilities at Riddle Village include coordinating various fitness programs and activities, working with individuals on a one-on-one basis, facilitating support groups, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Mary's work experience demonstrates their expertise in promoting wellness and supporting individuals in their fitness journey.

Mary Wolstenholme began their education in 1988 at Moore College of Art and Design, where they obtained a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Commercial and Advertising Art/Fashion Illustration in 1991. After a gap of several years, they returned to education in 2007 and attended Mountgomery County Community College, graduating in 2010 with a Gerontology Degree in the field of Gerontology.

In addition to their formal education, Mary has also obtained several certifications. In 2003, they received a Pilates Mat Level I Instructor certification from AAAI/ISMA. Mary further expanded their yoga expertise with a Yoga Instructor Certification at Level II from AAAI/ISMA in 2003. In 2004, they obtained a Group Exercise Leadership Specialty Certification focused on the older population from AAAI/ISMA.

Mary continued to enhance their professional qualifications with various certifications related to therapeutic rehabilitation and exercise. In 2012, they obtained an Evidence-Based Strengthening & Conditioning certification from CROSS COUNTRY EDUCATION PRIV LIMITED. Mary further completed a Coach Training program titled "MATTER OF BALANCE" offered by the Mountgomery County Health Department in 2011.

In subsequent years, Mary pursued additional certifications in specialized areas. In 2013, they obtained a certification in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy: Practical Interventions & Planning from CROSS COUNTRY EDUCATION PRIV LIMITED. The following year, they completed a Yoga for Therapeutic Rehabilitation certification from the same institution. In 2015, Mary acquired a Chair Chi certification from NCCAP. Mary'smost recent certification, obtained in 2016, is titled "Parkinson's Disease - A Perfect Balance: Practical Approach for Exercise for Both Brain & Body" from CROSS COUNTRY EDUCATION PRIV LIMITED.

Most recently, in 2019, Mary became a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the NCCDP.
