Louise-Chantal Visser

Louise-Chantal Visser has extensive work experience in legal and compliance roles. Louise-Chantal is currently the Head of Legal (ANZ) and Head of Privacy & Compliance at Beam Mobility. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Legal Counsel at MinterEllison. Louise-Chantal also held positions at Megaport, where they served as the Global Head of Privacy and Telecommunications Compliance, as well as the Data Protection & Privacy Officer.

Before joining Megaport, Visser worked at Tencent Africa as the Head of Commercial and later as the Head of Legal. Louise-Chantal played a significant role in the launch of Tencent apps in Africa, including WeChat.

Earlier in their career, Visser worked at Naspers Limited as the Head of Legal - MIH Internet Africa and as a Senior Legal Counsel. Their responsibilities at Naspers included managing legal matters related to e-commerce, ranging from basic office infrastructure to IT/tech, logistics, marketing, supply chain, customer experience, IP management, and M&A.

Louise-Chantal began their legal career at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Inc as a Senior Associate, gaining experience in various corporate and commercial contracts. Prior to that, they worked at Hofmeyr Herbstein & Gihwala Inc as an Associate, handling a variety of corporate and commercial work, including property development and BEE transactions. Louise-Chantal started their legal journey as a Candidate Attorney at the same company.

Louise-Chantal Visser obtained their education as follows:

From 1998 to 2000, they attended Stellenbosch University and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on Economics & Law.

Following that, from 2001 to 2002, they studied at Stellenbosch University and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.

In 2018, they enrolled in QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and spent two years, until 2020, studying supplementary legal subjects, specializing in law.

Aside from their educational background, Louise-Chantal Visser has also acquired several certifications. In 2005, they became an Attorney through the Law Society of South Africa. Louise-Chantal later obtained the title of Lawyer from the Queensland Law Society in July 2020. Furthermore, in November 2022, they obtained the certification of Solicitor from the High Court of Australia. Additionally, they became a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in August 2022. Finally, in October 2022, they earned the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
