Fernando Ruarte

Fernando Ruarte is the current EVP of Engineering at Ridecell. Prior to joining Ridecell, Fernando served as the CTO and EVP of Engineering & Products at Mode Media Corporation (formerly Glam Media) from January 2004 to September 2016.

At Mode Media, Fernando was responsible for implementing the rapidly evolving Technology and Products strategy behind Glam/Mode Media. Under Fernando's leadership, the company became a top 10 US company in reach with over 144M monthly users in the US, 400M global monthly users, 15000 Publishers and annual revenues of $100M.

Fernando grew the Engineering, Products and Operations organization from 2 employees in the US to over 250 employees globally, with offices in the US, UK, Germany, France, India and Japan.

During their time at Mode Media, Fernando built the Consumer, Monetization and Publisher SaaS Products. Product achievements include:

* Launching the Mode Insider, a SaaS Platform for Publishers Networks

* Adapt Video and Display Platform for Brands

* Hydra, the platform that targeted Mode's content programs on 20M+ unique urls/day processed and categorized using NLP in a highly distributed architecture

* Splash, a Rich Media and Video Platform for desktop and mobile with integrated In View and Insights analytics reporting

* Incorporating Ning.com into Mode’s platform infrastructure to increase efficiency and scalability

* Adapt Premium Ad Exchange (APAX), the first Premium Programmatic Marketplace to implement High Impact programs at scale using deal ids

Fernando also architected and deployed the high availability distributed global infrastructure that ran the company's products and business with multiple Petabytes of queryable Hadoop data and 99.99% uptime.

Fernando Ruarte's educational career began at Lycee Franco-Argentin Jean Mermoz, where they studied math and physics. Fernando then attended Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires, where they earned a degree in computer science and electronics engineering.
