Susan Dougherty

Susan Dougherty is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in literacy education. Since August 2015, Susan has served as Associate Professor and Department Chair at Rider University, following a tenure as Assistant Professor of Literacy Education at Rutgers University from September 2009 to August 2015. Prior roles include Co-curriculum Advisor for the PBS early literacy program "Between the Lions" and Instructor at Boston University, where Susan taught literacy instruction to graduate and undergraduate students. Susan's foundational experience includes teaching elementary grades at Watchung Borough Public Schools and Netcong Public Schools. Susan holds an Ed.D. in Literacy & Language from Boston University, along with multiple advanced degrees in educational media and reading education.
