Luca Arista

Luca Arista, PhD, PMP has extensive experience in medicinal chemistry and project management. Luca has held various roles in different companies, starting with Ridgeline Discovery in 2018 as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry. In 2020, they joined Matterhorn Biosciences as a Medicinal Chemistry consultant and later became the Director of Medicinal Chemistry. Luca also worked at Monte Rosa Therapeutics as a Medicinal Chemistry Consultant and at Black Diamond Therapeutics as a Medicinal Chemistry Advisor and later as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry. Prior to these roles, Luca worked at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) where they served as a Senior Investigator - Project Leader in Medicinal Chemistry, a Project Management Assistant, and a Research Investigator in Medicinal Chemistry. Luca also had roles at the Drug Discovery and Development Centre at the University of Cape Town and GlaxoSmithKline, where they focused on medicinal chemistry research and drug discovery.

Luca Arista, PhD, PMP has a diverse education history. Luca has a Laurea degree in Chemistry from Sapienza Università di Roma, which they obtained from 1987 to 1993. Prior to that, they completed their Maturità Scientifica at Villa Flaminia from 1981 to 1986. Luca went on to earn a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Università degli Studi di Palermo from 1994 to 1997. Luca then pursued additional education as a Visiting Ph.D. student in Organic Chemistry at The University of Manchester from 1996 to 1997. Luca later pursued a PostDoc in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Strasbourg in 1998 and 1999. In 2014, they obtained an II level postgraduate Master in Preclinical and Clinical Drug Development from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Continuing their education, Luca obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PM-Online in 2017. Luca further enhanced their knowledge with a Negotiation Programme from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2020. Recently, in 2021, Luca completed courses in Communicating for Influence and Impact at the University of Cambridge, in addition to obtaining certifications in Communicating for Influence and Impact from the University of Cambridge and in Negotiation Programme from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
