Rob Couey has a solid work experience in the field of information security and cyber operations. Rob currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at Ridgeline International, Inc., where they established and developed the company's information security team from scratch. Rob implemented various security measures, including vulnerability management processes, extensive security monitoring capabilities, and leveraged machine learning models for threat detection.

Prior to their current role, Rob worked in the US Navy for several positions. Rob served as a Project Manager and Cyber National Mission Forces Team Lead, where they developed scenarios for U.S. Cyber Command exercises and conducted cyber operations to counter foreign cyber threats. Rob also worked as a Computer Network Operations Supervisor and Program Manager, leading the establishment and development of a training course for the Service Cyber Components' workforce.

Rob also has experience as a Senior Network Security Analyst, where they reverse engineered a custom communications protocol and developed a plugin for real-time decoding. Rob was designated as a Subject Matter Expert for Computer Network Defense and Digital Forensics at the NSA/CSS Threat Operations Center. Additionally, they worked as a Senior System Administrator/Web Developer, overseeing web maintenance and programming tasks.

Furthermore, Rob has experience as an Instructor and Course Developer at UMBC Training Centers, where they taught and developed courses. Overall, Rob has extensive experience in various cybersecurity roles and has consistently contributed to the development and improvement of information security practices.

Rob Couey attended Excelsior University from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Liberal Studies. In terms of certifications, they obtained the following: Certified Reverse Engineering Analyst from IACRB in May 2008; GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) from GIAC Certifications in July 2007; GIAC Experienced Intrusion Analyst Certification (GX-IA) from GIAC Certifications in May 2023; GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst (GMOB) from GIAC Certifications in February 2019; GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) from GIAC Certifications in January 2007; GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) from GIAC Certifications in January 2023; GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics (GASF) from GIAC Certifications in December 2018; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in September 2007; and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) from (ISC)² in October 2015.
