Mahaveer Vakharia M.D.

Dr. Mahaveer Vakharia MD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the mental health field. Mahaveer began their career as a Psychiatrist at Behavioral Health Link in 2004 and continued to provide care for patients there. In 1997, they established their own practice, Mahaveer Vakharia MD PC, where they served as the President and oversaw a team of psychiatrists and nurse practitioners. Mahaveer has been a key figure in providing mental health care to the Powder Springs community and surrounding areas.

Dr. Vakharia also held various leadership positions throughout their career. Mahaveer served as the Medical Director at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center from 2011 to 2013, and at Acadia Healthcare from 2008 to 2012. Mahaveer was the Medical Director at Willowbrooke at Tanner, a psychiatric facility, from 2012 to 2018, where they played a crucial role in business development and quality of care initiatives. Dr. Vakharia also served as the Medical Director at Anchor Hospital from 2003 to 2008 and at Bridges of Paulding County from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, they held the position of Medical Director at Emory Parkway Medical Center from 1995 to 2002.

In 2018, Dr. Vakharia became the Medical Director at Ridgeview Institute. Overall, they have demonstrated their expertise and dedication in delivering quality mental health care, while also taking on administrative and leadership responsibilities throughout their career.

Mahaveer Vakharia MD completed their Psychiatry Residency Program at Bergen Regional Medical Center from 1989 to 1993. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1989, they pursued a Fellowship in Biological Psychiatry and Schizophrenia at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
