Emily Downs

Emily Downs is an experienced educator and creative professional with a focus on special education and art instruction. Currently serving as a Special Education Art Teacher at Ridgewood Public Schools since September 2019, Emily has also held various positions within the district, including roles as a Permanent Substitute, Special Education Aide, Teachers Aide, and Teaching Assistant. In addition to educational roles, Emily worked as a Cuisine Coordinator for Tips From Town from January 2012 to September 2023, where responsibilities included research, creation, and photography. Prior to Emily's work in education, experiences included serving as an Associate Hat Designer at Liz Claiborne and running a personal business as Owner, Operator, and Designer at E. Zaris Headmasks. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Design from Philadelphia University and pursued further education at Montclair State University.
