Gawain Lee-Son

Gawain Lee-Son has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Gawain started their career as a SQL Server DBA/Oracle DBA at Foschini and then worked as an Oracle DBA at Software Futures, where they were contracted to Vodacom. Gawain later joined Logica as an Oracle Consultant/DBA, working at the Ofcom Headquarters.

At Betfair, Gawain served as an Infrastructure/Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master for the Business Intelligence Management Data Warehouse Team, and Integration Team Lead/Manager. Gawain also founded their own business, GoGreenForHomes, which focused on providing eco-friendly products.

At Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Gawain worked as an Agile Project Manager/Scrum Master for Business Intelligence Services. Gawain then joined KPMG UK as a Project Manager, working on Data & Analytics projects and supporting the implementation of new technology in Insight Centers.

Gawain's next role was with Schroders, where they served as a Scrum Master, Kanban Practitioner, and Agile Coach for the Data Enablement team. Gawain also worked as a Release Train Engineer/Agile Coach, overseeing four Scrum teams.

Currently, Gawain is working at Rightpoint as a Director, leading Agile Delivery and Transformation for the Banking & Capital Markets/Financial Services industry. Gawain is responsible for managing Agile change initiatives and overseeing the delivery of a transformation and development program for a multinational investment bank. Their expertise includes Scrum, Kanban, XP, and Agile coaching.

Gawain Lee-Son's education history is as follows:

From 1995 to 1999, they attended Nelson Mandela University, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Information Technology.

In 2009, they became Prince2 Certified.

In 2010, they completed a certification course to become a Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance.

In 2011, they obtained a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from Scrum Alliance.

In 2018, they received a certification in Lean Kanban from Lean Kanban University.

In the same year, they also achieved the PSM III (Professional Scrum Master) certification from Scrum.org.

From Scrum.org, they also obtained the PSK 1 (Professional Scrum with Kanban) certification.

Additionally, they have acquired multiple certifications outside of formal education. These include certifications such as Certified Agile Leadership (CAL-O & CAL-E) from Scrum Alliance in 2021, ICAgile Certified Professional - Systems Coaching from ICAgile in 2022, and Product-led Certification from Pendo.io in 2023.
