Rasmus Lykke Marvig

Head Of Microbial Genomics at Rigshospitalet

Rasmus Lykke Marvig has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of genomics and bioinformatics. Rasmus Lykke started their career as a Teaching Assistant at the Technical University of Denmark in 2007. Rasmus Lykke then went on to work as a Video Project Developer at Biotech Academy and as a Visiting Researcher at Stanford University, where they conducted their Bachelor's Thesis. Rasmus also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and at Harvard Medical School as a Visiting Researcher in the Church Lab.

In 2012, Rasmus became a Graduate Visiting Student at MIT, specializing in marine microbiology and metagenomics. Rasmus Lykke then joined Rigshospitalet as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, focusing on genomic medicine. Rasmus Lykke later became the Head of Bioinformatics and then the Head of Microbial Genomics at Rigshospitalet, where they utilized genomic information for clinical diagnostics and research.

Throughout their career, Rasmus has also held positions at Danish National Genome Center, 1928 Diagnostics, and Danish Science Factory, where they served as an Advisor, Scientific Advisor, and Novo Science Ambassador, respectively. Their work experience is characterized by a strong emphasis on genomics, bioinformatics, and the application of genomic information in disease research.

Rasmus Lykke Marvig began their education journey at Hjørring Gymnasium, where they completed their high school education from 2001 to 2004. Rasmus Lykke then enrolled at DTU - Technical University of Denmark and obtained a Master's Degree in Biotechnology, studying from 2005 to 2010. Rasmus then pursued further studies at Copenhagen Business School, earning a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (HD 1. del) from 2008 to 2011. Rasmus Lykke later returned to DTU and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from 2010 to 2013.
