Midia Shikh Hassan 施美迪 has had a varied and impressive work experience since 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Student Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa. In 2015, they were the Entrepreneur and Mentor for the Women's Startup Network-uOttawa, and also the Manager and Coordinator for several programs and initiatives in the faculty of engineering, as well as the Difference Makers Program Coordinator at the University of Ottawa. In 2016, they became the CEO & Co-founder of Dextra Innovation, a not-for-profit that provides low cost 3D printed prosthetic arms. In 2017, they became the Co-Founder & CEO of CannyVision. In 2018, they were a Manager at MakerLaunch, providing University of Ottawa students and recent alumni entrepreneurs with the support necessary to fast track commercialization of technologies and launch new tech startups. Most recently, they have been the Strategy Manager at Riipen since 2021.

Midia Shikh Hassan 施美迪 has a diverse educational background. Midia is currently pursuing a Master of Management Science from Schwarzman Scholars and Tsinghua University, with a focus on Global Affairs. In 2018, they obtained a Certification from the University of Cambridge in Leading the Change (Leadership Development). Midia obtained their BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 2018, and their Honours Bachelor in Health Sciences and minor in Biochemistry from the same university in 2014.
