Manager public engagement, education and exhibitions / vice-director at Rijksmuseum Boerhaave

Annelore Scholten has a diverse range of work experience. From 2008, they worked at the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave as the Manager of Public Engagement, Education, and Exhibitions, eventually becoming the Vice-Director. Their responsibilities included overseeing education, exhibitions, events, communications, volunteer policy, and fundraising. Annelore also worked at ZIMIHC from 2016 as the Chairman of the Board, where they promoted creativity in society and provided platforms for amateur artists in Utrecht. Additionally, Scholten served as the Chairperson for the Boellaardfonds Foundation, which manages the inheritance of Mejuffrouw M.C. Boellard. Annelore has also held roles as a Board Member for Stichting Ocean Film Productions, Chairperson of the Public and Presentation section at the Nederlandse Museumvereniging, Chairman of Rotary Utrecht-Krommerijn, and Chairman of the Board for Rood Noot. Furthermore, Scholten served as the Treasurer for the Vereniging voor samenwerkende centra en musea in wetenschap en techniek, an organization that coordinates science museums and science centers in the Netherlands and Flanders. Lastly, they were the Chairman of the Board for Museumgroep Leiden, an organization responsible for the joint promotion and education of seven museums in Leiden. Prior to these positions, Scholten worked as a Cultural Broker for the city of Utrecht at Netwerk Cultuur Informatie.

Annelore Scholten has a diverse education history. Annelore completed their undergraduate studies from 1975 to 1980 at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht), where they focused on French and English. Following this, they pursued a degree in French Language and Literature from 1980 to 1987 at Utrecht University. Later, Annelore Scholten enrolled at Leiden University from 1992 to 1998, where they studied Art History with a specialization in Modern Art and Dutch Modern Sculpture, earning the degree of "drs." In 2016/2017, they attended De Baak, where they completed a program in High Potential Leadership.
