Alex Emly

Alex Emly is a Hardware Safety and Reliability Engineer at Ring since April 2022, with prior experience as a Battery Engineer at Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. and Managing Engineer at Exponent. Alex has a strong background in hardware-related failure analysis, providing technical insights to inform business decisions. Academic experience includes roles as a Graduate Student Research Assistant, Graduate Student Instructor, and Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, University of Florida, and North Carolina State University, focusing on alternative battery chemistries and synthesis of battery materials. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Florida.
