Gary Barker

Gary Barker is a seasoned artist and educator with extensive experience in the field of illustration and comic art. Since August 2004, Gary has been a Faculty Instructor in the Illustration Department at Ringling College of Art and Design, transitioning from adjunct to full-time status in 2020. In addition to academic contributions, Gary has worked as a cartoonist for Paws Inc. since 1983, shifting to a freelance contract in 2003 to accommodate teaching responsibilities. Gary's freelance work includes collaborations with BOOM! Studios and Marvel Comics, specializing as a penciler for various prominent comic publishers. Gary holds a BA in Art from the University of Indianapolis and a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design.
