Alex McGurk

Alex McGurk serves as the Regional Head of Litigation for EMEA at Rio Tinto since June 2024. Prior to this role, Alex held various positions at Endeavor, including Vice President & Associate General Counsel in Litigation and Vice President & Counsel, from October 2015 to June 2024. Alex's earlier experience includes serving as Group Legal Counsel at Hearst from June 2012 to October 2015 and as Senior Legal Counsel at Avalon Entertainment Limited between October 2011 and June 2012. Alex began a legal career as a Solicitor at Harbottle & Lewis from September 2005 to January 2011, specialising in contentious and commercial intellectual property and media law. Alex's educational background includes a degree in History from UCL (2000 - 2003) and legal studies at BPP Law School (2003 - 2005).
