Dan Mumm

Dan Mumm is an experienced environmental engineer and study lead specializing in mining and reclamation. At Rio Tinto since July 2021, Dan oversees closure studies, previously holding the role of Environmental Engineer at Westmoreland Mining LLC from February 2016 to July 2021. Key achievements include managing environmental compliance with zero violations, leading project management processes, and executing significant bond reduction efforts. With a background at BHP Billiton in various environmental roles, Dan has a strong foundation in reclamation and permit compliance. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Reclamation from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, completed in 2012. Early experience on a family farm provided practical skills in agriculture and equipment operation.
