Dr Tamara Vasey

Dr. Tamara Vasey is an accomplished professional in the field of data science and engineering, currently serving as Manager of Data Science for Rio Tinto Exploration since May 2014, where leadership includes a focus on in-pit mining technology and the development of the digital integrated mine. With prior roles at Rio Tinto as Principal Research Lead, Principal OBK Systems Innovation, and Principal Project Lead, Dr. Vasey's expertise encompasses advanced algorithmic solutions and data analytics in mining operations. Experience also includes serving as a Senior Software/Electronic Engineer at MRX Technologies, where projects focused on autonomous train control and radar hazard detection, alongside academic roles as Research Associate and Associate Lecturer at The University of Western Australia. Dr. Vasey holds a PhD in Microelectronics Engineering and dual bachelor's degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Information Technology Systems from The University of Western Australia.
