Faiq Ahmed Zafar

Faiq Ahmed Zafar is an accomplished IS&T Project Manager at Rio Tinto since September 2024, where responsibilities include delivering and managing technology solutions for the Simandou project, a major mining initiative in Africa. Prior experience includes serving as an Information Technology Program Project Manager at First Abu Dhabi Bank from July 2020 to August 2024, overseeing projects in technology modernization and cloud migration. Faiq held multiple roles at Shell from January 2009 to May 2020, including IT Infrastructure Project Manager for the Basrah Gas Company, focused on a significant flare reduction project, and other project management positions across the MENA region. Earlier experience as Head of PC Support & Manager of Networks at Clariant Pakistan Limited from November 2001 to December 2008 involved managing corporate data and voice networks. Faiq holds a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering (Telecommunication) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, both from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology.
