Gavin Rootsey

Gavin Rootsey possesses extensive experience in water management and engineering, currently serving as Principal Advisor - Water at Rio Tinto since July 2020, after holding the role of Specialist Advisor - Water within the same group. Prior to Rio Tinto, Gavin was employed at Anglo American as a Water Specialist from July 2019 to July 2020. Earlier experience includes positions at WRM Water & Environment Pty Ltd, where Gavin was both Principal Engineer and Senior Engineer, and at Hatch as a Senior Water Engineer and Water Engineer. The career began at Water Solutions Pty Ltd as a Water Engineer, contributing to a solid foundation in the industry. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering from Queensland University of Technology, obtained between 2004 and 2008.
