Jacques Nel

Jacques Nel is an experienced professional in the mining and exploration industry, currently serving as Exploration Manager at Rio Tinto since 2019, where responsibilities include safety leadership and management roles. Prior to this, Jacques Nel worked at Richards Bay Minerals from 2009 to March 2021, taking on key roles such as Manager of Technical Services and Resource Estimation. Earlier career experiences include positions at Rio Tinto Exploration as Senior Project Geoscientist, De Beers as Senior Exploration Geologist, Anglo Platinum as Section Geologist, and Transhex as Geologist. Jacques Nel holds a B.Sc. Hons in Geology from the University of Port Elizabeth, obtained between 1995 and 1999.
