Franca Smith

As SVP, Finance, Franca oversees RioCan’s Financial Reporting and Corporate, Development and Property Accounting functions, Internal Audit and Compliance, Rewards and Payroll Benefits as well as Taxation. Her oversight of these functions support RioCan’s responsible growth and drive long-term value creation, while maintaining a robust balance sheet.

Franca is a focused, results-driven leader committed to coaching and mentorship across her teams. She joined RioCan in 2017 and brings more than 25 years of experience across the real estate, retail and consumer products industries to her role. Prior to joining RioCan, notable roles for Franca included SVP, Financial Control at Loblaw Companies Ltd. and SVP, Controller for George Weston Ltd. She also served as interim CFO for RioCan, from May – September, 2021.

Franca is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, and is a graduate of the Rotman School of Management’s CFO Leadership program.
