Rise Against Hunger
Edna Ogwangi has extensive work experience in the nonprofit and international development sectors. Edna began their career at Land O'Lakes in 2000 as a Project Manager, overseeing program operations and collaborating with project partners and stakeholders. Edna later became a Regional Project Manager for East and Southern Africa, managing a portfolio of projects and overseeing a team of Program Specialists.
In 2005, Ogwangi joined Land O'Lakes International Development Division as a Program Manager, responsible for program operations. Edna then took on the role of Project Manager for Africa, where they managed program specialists, reviewed performance reports and work plans, and participated in proposal reviews.
In 2011, Ogwangi transitioned to the Monitoring and Evaluation department at Land O'Lakes, where they served as a Manager and later as a Senior Manager. Edna developed and implemented monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, ensuring alignment with donor and organizational goals.
In 2015, Ogwangi joined Rise Against Hunger as the Director of Aid Distribution, Monitoring, and Evaluation, where they provided organizational leadership and developed an effective aid distribution and evaluation system. Edna later became the Chief Impact Officer and was responsible for measuring the effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of all Rise Against Hunger programs. Currently, they serve as the Chief Programs Officer, overseeing the development of the program and technical business strategy and managing programmatic impact projects.
From 1996 to 1998, Edna Ogwangi attended Andrews University where they pursued a Masters of Social Work degree in the field of International Development and Administration.
