Chika Nwobi

Chika "CN" Nwobi is a prominent entrepreneur and tech leader with extensive experience in building successful software engineering teams and investing in technology startups across Africa and emerging markets. Currently serving as Chairman at Vertex Software Corp. since January 2023, Nwobi has led significant acquisitions, including one involving an Austin-based digital product engineering consultancy. As CEO and Founder of Decagon, Nwobi focuses on developing world-class engineering teams, while also functioning as the Founder/CEO of L5Lab, a venture-builder that has invested in over 20 tech startups, including Gokada. Nwobi holds board positions with Unilever Nigeria and has been a Venture Partner at Rise Capital since 2015. Additionally, Nwobi co-founded Cheki.com.ng and Jobberman.com, two major online platforms in Africa. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Oxford and a BSc and BA in Computer Science and Economics from East Tennessee State University.
