Troy Buehner has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Troy began their career as a Contract Programmer at Dakota Balance, Inc in 2001. Troy then worked as a Software Engineer at FireSteel Technologies, Inc from 2003 to 2005, where they configured telecommunications hardware and wrote system generated reports. In 2005, they joined Fiserv as a Lead Software Engineer, where they implemented the conversion and enhancement of the Precision code base and worked on integrating document management and report packages. Troy then moved on to Raven Industries in 2011 as a Senior Programmer/Analyst, where they wrote software and modernized their current software to new user interfaces. In 2012, they joined Zuercher Technologies as an Application Developer, working on the Zuercher Suite public safety software solution. Troy later became the Software Engineering Manager, responsible for managing software engineering projects. Most recently, Troy has been working at RAS since 2018, where they started as a Lead Software Developer and is currently serving as the IT Director.

Troy Buehner attended Dakota State University from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a degree in Computer Information Systems with a focus on Computer Science/Information Systems. Troy later obtained the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022.
