EH&S Business Development Manager at Risk and Safety Solutions

Russell Vernon has an extensive work experience in the area of Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) and Risk Management. Russell has held various positions since 1992, beginning with a Postgraduate Researcher at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Russell then moved to the University of California, San Diego in 1994, where they were an Environment Health & Safety Specialist. During their time there, they revised teaching laboratory course manuals to reduce hazardous waste generated by 50%, and developed specialized management and health & safety training. In 1999, they moved to the University of California, Riverside, where they held the positions of Director Environment Health Safety and Research Safety Manager. Since 2017, they have been working at Risk and Safety Solutions, first as an EH&S Business Development Manager, then as an EH&S Program Manager, and currently as a Senior Product Developer. In this role, they are a subject matter expert for the development team, providing vision for projects requiring extensive research, analysis, data collection, critical thinking, and technical expertise.

Russell Vernon obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Colorado Denver between 1984 and 1988. Russell then went on to earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC San Diego between 1987 and 1993. Russell also has experience in Technical Theartre from Western Washington University and Physics and Political Science from the University of Washington. Additionally, they have obtained a Critical Thinking for Better Judgment and Decision-Making certification from LinkedIn in June 2020, as well as a Certificate of Completion in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People from the American Management Association.
