Steve R. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in different companies.

Starting from their most recent position, Steve currently serves as the Director of Security at Rithmik Solutions since November 2021.

Prior to this, they worked at Dotdash from December 2018 to November 2021. Here, they held the role of Principal Application Security Analyst. Steve also served as a Senior Software Developer, where they facilitated the migration of the Investopedia website into the DotDash tech stack and helped onboard Investopedia developers to the new environment.

From 2016 to 2018, Steve worked at Investopedia. Steve was initially an Intermediate Software Developer, responsible for performance optimizations and providing input on architectural decisions. Later, they became a Senior Software Developer and contributed to a skunk works project to develop a new tech stack for the company.

Before joining Investopedia, Steve was employed at Brock Canada from 2014 to 2016. As a Senior Software Developer, they focused on modernizing development practices and maintaining legacy systems while developing new replacement applications.

From 2012 to 2014, Steve worked at Intelliwave Technologies Inc. as a Software Developer. Steve played a crucial role in virtualizing the development and production infrastructure, implementing git for software development and facilitating gitflow style branch organization.

Steve's career began at Steel-Craft Door Products in 2012 as a Junior Software Developer. Steve then worked at GE as a Software Developer from 2011 to 2012.

In 2010, Steve was a Software Developer at IdeaSpark Labs, primarily working on a digital distribution platform.

At the University of Alberta's Department of Computing Science Technical Support Team, Steve served as a Software Developer and Helpdesk Technician from 2008 to 2009. Steve completed various projects and provided technical support for users.

Lastly, in 2006, Steve worked at Sherritt International as an Information Technology Technician. Steve resolved helpdesk issues, managed projects, and transitioned into a management role.

Throughout their career, Steve R. has gained experience in security, application development, software architecture, performance optimization, migration projects, and technical support.

Steve R. completed their education in a chronological order. Firstly, from 2002 to 2004, they attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and obtained a degree in Computer Systems Technology. Following that, they pursued their Bachelor of Science degree with a Specialization in Computing Science from the University of Alberta from 2005 to 2010.
