Joanne Marquardt-Berbower is currently the Head of HR at Riva Health. Prior to their current position, Joanne was the Executive / Personal Assistant to the VP of Operations at Origin House from January 2018 to June 2019. In this role, Joanne was responsible for multiple calendar management, track meetings, deliverables, and action items, travel prep & booking, build-out & execute senior executive quarterly meetings, business development research, project management using SmartSheets / Excel (departmental performance, company parties, tradeshows, remodels, building TI, global reporting), various administrative tasks, resolving technical "issues", and miscellaneous personal assistance tasks such as fashion stylist, errands, banking, etc.
Before their time at Origin House, Joanne was the owner / business leader at JMB Virtual Assistant Co. from August 1988 to August 2011. In this role, Joanne successfully built and managed multiple retail stores while creating a positive, welcoming experience for customers with continued stability and revenue growth. Joanne also planned and executed strategies to boost revenue and customer satisfaction for trend-setting boutiques. Furthermore, Joanne developed, trained and supervised a sales team of 30-35 dedicated professionals that understood store culture and enthusiastically met customers' needs. As the director of operations, Joanne achieved many successes including a proven record with managing/opening 15 retail stores, defining and implementing the systems/processes and buying for successful operation; 20+ years experience forecasting and managing 3+ million dollar sales projections and budgets for a corporation with multiple Action Sport retail locations; designing and implementing a business plan to convert existing sports retail stores to temporary Halloween retail (resulting in a 400% increase in gross sales and 25% increase in profit margin for the months of September and October); successfully planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of daily operational activities including administration, sales forecasting, marketing, scheduling, buying, vendor relations and customer service to meet targeted goals; skilled at developing and maintaining detailed administrative, procedural, and accounting processes that reduce costs, boost efficiency and enhance productivity; readily adapt to changing priorities; exercise wise use of resources and sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making while handling numerous tasks; possess an exceptional talent for interpersonal communications with the ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with customers, vendors, staff and managers; experienced in crafting/implementing marketing material and plans; well-versed in utilizing social networks.
