Dhruba Jyoti Sarma, PhD

Head of Laboratory at Rivaara Labs

Dhruba Jyoti Sarma has diverse work experience in various research and laboratory roles. From 2014 to 2016, Sarma worked as a Junior Research Fellow BSR at Tezpur University. Following this, Sarma served as a Senior Research Fellow BSR at Tezpur University from 2016 to 2020. In 2019, Sarma worked as a Research Associate at Guwahati Medical College. Sarma then joined Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute in India in 2020, where they worked on molecular biology and cancer research as a SA. In 2023, Sarma was employed as a Flow Cytometrist at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute before becoming the Head of Laboratory at Rivaara Labs in the same year.

Dhruba Jyoti Sarma, PhD, began their education journey in 2008 at North-Eastern Hill University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2011, they joined Tezpur University to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. This program lasted from 2011 until 2013.

Following their master's degree, Sarma continued their academic pursuits at Tezpur University and started their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in 2013. Their research focus during their PhD studies was on devicing a Cytochrome P450 based EnFET sensor for hydrocarbon detection. Sarma successfully completed their PhD in 2017, obtaining their doctoral degree.
