Raj Shukla

Raj Shukla is an experienced executive who has held various leadership roles since 2003. Raj has most recently been the Midwest Director of Freshwater Policy at The Nature Conservancy since March 2021. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director at the River Alliance of Wisconsin from August 2016 to March 2021. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Director of Programs at Cool Choices, where they led the strategic development and implementation of all programs. Before that, they were the Wisconsin State Finance Director at Progressive Majority, where they trained and promoted candidates for state and local office and led fundraising efforts. From 2003 to 2005, they were a Program Officer at the Greater Milwaukee Committee, where they managed communications, fundraising, and administration for an inner-city reinvestment program. Raj also founded Brightbend and served as Principal from 2008 to 2011. Shukla will become the President and CEO of River Network in 2023.

Raj Shukla received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1994 and 1998.
