Sam Skalicky

Sam Skalicky is a highly experienced software engineer and researcher with a significant background in deep learning and software development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer in Perception at Rivian since March 2024, Sam has previously held positions such as Staff Research Scientist at IBM, focusing on deep learning inference accelerators, and multiple roles at Amazon, including Sr. Software Development Engineer III, where contributions were made to various frameworks like PyTorch, MXNet, and AWS Neuron. Sam's earlier experiences include positions at the Information Sciences Institute, Xilinx, and hands-on roles at Cisco Systems and D3 Engineering. Sam holds a PhD in Computing & Information Sciences, a BS in Computer Engineering, and an Associate of Science degree in Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College.
