Flemming R. Cassee

Flemming R. Cassee is a distinguished toxicologist with extensive experience in public health and scientific research. Currently serving as the Chief Science Officer at RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment since December 1995, Flemming aims to deliver high-quality scientific knowledge aligned with societal needs. Additionally, Flemming holds a part-time professorship in Inhalation Toxicology at Universiteit Utrecht, mentoring PhD students and delivering lectures. Former leadership roles include President of the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Specialty Section and the Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section within the Society of Toxicology, as well as President of the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Toxicologie. Flemming also contributed as Editor in Chief of Particle and Fibre Toxicology under Biomed Central SpringerNature and has a PhD in Biology with a focus on toxicology from Utrecht University.
