Björn Töpel

Björn Töpel has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and development.

Björn is currently working at Rivos Inc. as a Principal Member of Technical Staff (Software) since October 2022.

Previously, from March 2021 to October 2022, they were employed at Mullvad VPN as a Software Engineer. Björn was involved in firmware and Linux kernel work related to the System Transparency project.

Before that, from October 2015 to March 2021, Björn worked at Intel Corporation as a Linux Kernel and Device Driver Developer. Björn was a member of the "Performance and Virtualization" team, focusing on Linux networking stack and occasionally working on DPDK.

From September 2012 to October 2015, Björn worked at Orc Group as a Software Engineer/Tech Lead, Algorithmic Trading Server. Björn contributed to the development of algorithmic trading server software.

In January 2012, Björn briefly worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Development Engineer.

From April 2009 to January 2012, they worked at Skype as a Core Library Developer.

In 2011, Björn co-founded Low Latency Trading, where they developed Linux kernel device drivers and userspace API/libraries for ultra-low latency hardware accelerated components.

From February 2007 to April 2009, they worked at Global IP Solutions as a Software Engineer, focusing on Video-over-IP conference component development.

Björn started their career at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications as a Software Engineer, and as a thesis intern at Ingate Systems.

Björn Töpel obtained their M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Linköping University, completing their studies between 1999 and 2005.
