Valerie Barker

Valerie began working in the industry over 25 years ago, starting her career at Pike Industries (CRH Oldcastle Company) in Lewiston, Maine.

Valerie worked in the accounting department for Pike Industries (CRH Oldcastle Company) and then moved to the field for growth and opportunity. She later joined Heavy Highway Construction, joining their OJT (On the Job Training program). After spending a few years learning the trade and shifting her responsibilities from estimating to producing materials for projects, she transitioned her career. She took a role as Sr. Vice President, Information Technology at Summit Materials.

As Vice President of Information Technology, Valerie is responsible for the overall technology strategy for RK and its seven businesses. She provides strategic guidance, leadership, vision and hands-on support for developing and implementing RK’s information technology roadmap.

Valerie attended Radford University in Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and later completed her Masters of Science degree in Accounting and Finance.
