Heidi Goertzen

Heidi Goertzen is a Senior Research Associate at RMC Research Corporation since May 2020, following a tenure as an Independent Consultant at the Center for Applied from January 2020 to May 2020. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior TA Consultant at the American Institutes for Research from May 2015 to October 2019, where Goertzen managed the Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC) for the Alabama State Department of Education, leading projects on school turnaround, professional learning, and educator effectiveness among other initiatives. Prior to this role, Goertzen worked as a Program Associate at SEDL from June 2013 to May 2015, which later merged with AIR. Goertzen holds a Ph.D. in Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education from Auburn University, a Master's in Language Education with a focus on English as a Second Language from Indiana University Bloomington, and a Bachelor's Degree in English from The University of Texas at Austin.
