Ian Speechley

Ian Speechley is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in managing cyber security operations across various organizations. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Cyber Design & Control at RMIT University since September 2025, Ian previously held positions such as Head of Information Security at Link Group and Manager of Cyber Security Operations at UniSuper and Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. Notable achievements include creating operational security strategies and structures at Bupa, where Ian led multiple dedicated security teams. Ian's earlier roles involved managing major incidents and improving processes at organizations such as GE Capital, Australia Post, ANZ, Nortel, and CSC. Ian holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Melbourne and has furthered education with certifications in ITIL and Six Sigma.
