Abby Merz

Abby Merz serves as the Events & Communications Coordinator at the Rochester Museum & Science Center since April 2024. Prior to this role, Abby was the Youth Services Director for the City of Commerce City from April 2021 to April 2024. Abby's experience includes positions as a High Ropes Course Guide at Colorado Adventure Center, a Ski Instructor at Grand Targhee Resort, and a Whitewater Rafting Guide at Colorado Adventure Center - Idaho Springs Basecamp. Additionally, Abby worked as a Trail Leader for Frontier - The Society for Environmental Exploration, leading students through Southeast Asia while also teaching English in Cambodia. Previous roles include Crew Leader at Northwest Youth Corps and Intern at Royal Beach Camp. Abby began outdoor leadership experiences as a Trip Leader and Rock Wall Supervisor at SUNY Cortland Outdoor Pursuits. Abby holds a BS in Outdoor Recreation, Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies and Archaeology from State University of New York Cortland and graduated from Brighton High School in 2014.
