Dr. Issa Sawaqed has extensive work experience in the field of sports medicine. Dr Issa served as the Head of the Sports Medicine Section at the Royal Medical Services (RMS) from September 2008 onwards. Prior to that, they worked at RMS in the Jordan Army starting from November 1985. In 1998, they worked as a Registrar at Oxford University in the UK for a year.

Dr. Issa Sawaqed, a sports medicine surgeon, has a diverse education history. Dr Issa first obtained a General Secondary Education Certificate in the Scientific Stream from Zerka Jordan. Dr Issa then attended the Faculty of Medicine at Jordan University in Amman-Jordan, where they earned an M.B.,B.S. Degree in Medicine & Surgery in 1985. Later, they pursued further education at Jordan University and obtained an M.D; M.B.,B.S. Degree in Medicine & Surgery.

Dr. Sawaqed also completed a Certificate of Limited Registration with the GMC, although the specific dates are not provided.
