RMU Athletics
Ryan Gavatorta currently serves as the Assistant AD for Media Relations at RMU Athletics, a position held since October 2023. Previously, Ryan held the role of Assistant Director of Media Relations at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from February 2019 to October 2023, and served as Press Box Manager for the United States Football League between April 2022 and July 2023. Ryan's earlier experience includes a long tenure as Assistant Director of Media Relations at Duquesne University from September 2006 to February 2019, where responsibilities encompassed media liaison work, social media management, and design of media materials. Additionally, Ryan contributed to Pittsburgh Power Football's media relations and produced broadcasts for the Robert Morris Colonials Radio Network. Ryan earned a Master's degree in Sports Leadership and a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, both from Duquesne University.

Nestled in the heart of Moon Twp, PA, in the West Hills of Pittsburgh, Robert Morris University Athletics has achieved great success with its 17 Division I teams across seven collegiate conferences. RMU Athletics is home to the Horizon League (men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, cross country, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball, and golf), Big South (football), ASUN (men’s lacrosse), MAC (women’s lacrosse), MAAC (rowing), AHA (men’s ice hockey), and CHA (women’s ice hockey) conferences. Our 425 student athletes come from all over the world to compete as a Colonial. These student athletes display Colonial pride both on the competition floor and in the classroom with a 3.40 grade point average. Our 80 staff members, our student-athletes and alumni are dedicated in our efforts to UNITE campus, UNITE the community, and UNITE on game day. Robert Morris University Athletics began as a junior college powerhouse in 1963 and soon rose to Division I status in 1976. "Bobby Mo" has had a storied career over the years with 60+ conference championships and NCAA appearances. Our rich history of championship pedigree and excellence off the competition floor has been the backbone of our athletic department and will continue to take the Colonials into our 47th season in Division I athletics. “Let’s Go Bobby Mo!”
