Catriona Savage Freng

Catriona Savage FREng serves as the BMT Programme Director for Fleet Solid Support since June 2024 and has held the position of President and Board Trustee at the Royal Institution of Naval Architects since June 2017. In addition, Catriona is a Technical Advisory Committee Member for RNLI since November 2022 and has been an Honorary Professor and MoD Chair of Naval Architecture at UCL Mechanical Engineering since April 2017. Previous roles include Chief Technical Officer at Silverstream Technologies and various leadership positions at BMT and BMT Defence Services Ltd, where Catriona directed technical assurance and managed naval architecture teams. Catriona has also contributed as a Deputy Chair for UKNEST and served as an external examiner for Newcastle University and the University of Strathclyde. Catriona holds a Master of Science in Maritime Engineering Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Ship Science from the University of Southampton.
