Nelson Simões

Nelson Simões has been director-general of RNP since 2002. He was a member of the Internet Management Committee in Brazil, elected as a representative of the scientific and technological community, between 2002 and 2010, and still works in this position at Cinemateca Brasileira and other organizations. He was director of the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (CLARA), from 2003 to 2014, the international organization responsible for the Latin American regional research network. He is a computer engineer from PUC-Rio and has a master's degree in Communication Policies from the University of Brasília (UnB).
