Vince Patton

Vince Patton is an accomplished journalist and speaker with extensive experience in environmental reporting, media production, and genealogy. Currently a guest speaker for Road Scholar since 2014, Vince engages senior travelers with insights on Oregon's natural wonders. As a freelance writer, field producer, and photographer since 2004, work has appeared in notable publications like Television Week and Portland Monthly. Vince served as President of the Genealogical Forum of Oregon from 2017 to 2021, leading operations and successful fundraising efforts. Previous roles include environmental reporter for Oregon Public Broadcasting and KGW-TV, and senior reporter at WFAA, where significant stories were covered including high-profile tragedies and local governance. Vince holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has completed fellowships at the University of Michigan and the Marine Biological Laboratory.
