Alexander Gunkel has a diverse work experience in various industries. Alexander founded and served as the Managing Director of Space4Good, a social enterprise focused on utilizing space technology for social and environmental good. Alexander also founded RoadEO, a company that leverages space technology and crowd participation to assess and monitor infrastructure assets in real-time. In addition, Gunkel co-founded Skytree, a spin-off from the European Space Agency that developed a CO2 capture technology used in various industries. Alexander worked as a Lean Innovation Coach at Innoleaps, where they specialized in accelerating strategy implementation and creating new business models for corporate clients. Gunkel also gained experience as a Young Graduate Trainee at the European Space Agency and completed internships at VDMA and Innovation Factory.
Alexander Gunkel began their education at Technische Universität Darmstadt in 2004 and completed their studies in 2012, earning a Diplom in Mechanical Engineering & Business Administration. In 2008-2009, they participated in an exchange program at Stellenbosch University, where they focused on Mechanical Engineering and Business Management.
After completing their formal education, Alexander participated in a Business Accelerator program called Startupbootcamp Amsterdam in 2014. This program is known as Europe's leading accelerator program for startups.
In 2013, they also participated in the YES!Delft Incubator program, which focuses on building tomorrow's leading firms.
In addition to their formal education, Alexander Gunkel has obtained certifications including Professional Scrum Master I from CAI Opleidingen, which was obtained in October 2017, and PRINCE2 Practitioner, also obtained from CAI Opleidingen, in March 2017.
