Richard Nelson

Richard Nelson is a highly experienced consultant and business development expert with a strong focus on international trade and export consultancy for architecture, engineering, and construction firms. As the Founder and Managing Director of Abyss Global Ltd. since 2012, Richard has advised over twenty firms on international growth strategies. Richard has held significant leadership roles, including Ambassador and Past Chair of the IoD Property and Built Environment Group and Chair of both the IoD Property and Built Environment Special Interest Group and the IoD City Property Group. Experience includes consulting roles with firms such as Scott Brownrigg, WT Partnership, Robert Bird Group, and the Digital Twin Unit, alongside a successful background in various business development positions at Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure, Watkins Gray International LLP, WYG Group, and Llewelyn Davies. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and is a graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
